The
response from Harrogate businesses for the 2009/10 harrogate at christmas
campaign has exceeded expectations so far, with sufficient funds being
raised to repeat last year's Christmas Lights and funding towards
entertainment for the Switch-On Ceremony on Thursday, 19th November now well
on the way.
Any type
of business, whether retail or service sector, can support this project -

A recent
phone-in on Stray FM resulted in 40 businesses pledging donations
resulting in a total of more than £10,000, including the proceeds of the
Raffle at the Yorkshire Business Market. The Council’s promise of up to
£10,000 in matched funding means the £20,000 target for this year’s
Christmas lights has been achieved.
Members of
Harrogate Retailers' Forum are gathering together items for a Raffle with
prizes to a total value of over £5,000. Tickets will be available in town centre
stores in the run-up to the Prize Draw on Thursday 19th November.
